I put Dynamat lining under the hood. I cleaned under the hood with Simple Green and wiped down to eliminate some oil residue but the Dynamat didn't want to stick easily. I applied some Gorilla Glue. We will see how it is in the morning and how effective the Dynamat is. Really effective I hope since the hood kit was $91.00
What did you do to your Rover today?

On Saturday I started working on the lightweight. Mostly to swap transmissions but in doing the job I found all kinds of things that needed help so I got a little stalled from my original intentions.
Yesterday I moved my battery from the center seat box to under the hood. This was the first start up following the move.
I swapped transmissions too. This new one is a 1 ton transmission and I've never seen one in action before. Naturally I was full of giddy anticipation to test it out. Here is the first ride. It tops out at 50 before it seems a rod will get tossed. Low range is incredible. Here is the first ridiculous test of high range.
Sorry about the darkness and shakiness but this is budget project ya know.Comment

The flares were on the truck when I got it. I'm not sure who makes them but I'm almost sure I've seen them on some English lightweights. Maybe they are a common item over there?Comment

I took a wire wheel on a drill to the underside of the hood before installing Dynamat.. Use the roller and work slowly.. Mines great..
Did the rear fender wells on the 109" as well Thoes things act like speakers for road noise..1971 SIIa 88" NAS Dauntles V6

This was taken on Thursday after diagnosing the transmission was shot. You can see I had assembled all my transmissions together in anticipation. And a chain saw.

So the dynamat you have in the wheel wells is exposed to the out doors, water, snow etc? I was not sure it could stand that. I may gjust give it a shot on my 88Best,

yeah but then I had to load another website. I generally just post a decent sized photo on here. Its faster and I don't have to loan another page...which on this computer..which is 11 years old can sometimes get slow.Comment

Finally, I think I have the ole girl running right! Today was the home stretch: new Flame-Thrower coil, Pertronix Ignitor, valves adjusted and engine timed via timing light. She runs like a raped ape! All thats left is to change the fluids tomorrow and put in some new magnacores and she is good to go! Oh, and I want to find a Rochester carb...but thats not a necessity per say!Comment

I knew I shouldve knocked on wood!!!! Hopped in to go for a ride and she would barely stay running and was bogging down. We just got a ton of rain so it could be the Weber 34 ich carb not liking the water or the timing went off (but I thought Pertronix held time.) oh well, I'll get a timing light tomorrow and check it.Comment

I installed the hard top on my 88 for the first time in over a year, seafoamed the engine, poured fuel stabilizer in the gas tank and marvel magic mystery oil in the cylinders and disconnected the battery and stuffed it in into a garage where it will stay until this May when i return from school. Which brings me to my next question: Whats the rover scene like in Omaha NE? I will be attending creighton university in a couple days....
