      Yesterday...
I chased all threaded holes in the block with taps. I washed the block. I installed the new core plugs and I primed the block.

      Today...
      I painted the engine block.

      Hopefully...
I should get the crankshaft and pistons/rods installed tomorrow evening.

            I have one - it's terrific.

I understand that Ray redesigned it so that it angles down a bit, decreasing the amount of drips that occur at filter changes. Not that it's a big deal, especially compared to the canister.

I sent an email this afternoon. Site has yet to update on the availability of the new design. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Went out to start the Rover this morning and she wouldn't start. I took the inline filter apart and checked the pump prime. She was getting fuel so then I pulled a spark plug out. Totaly black, a bit of emmery cloth and back in she fires right up. I have to choke the carb to get it to start on cold mornings and I must of forgot to take the choke off fouling the plugs. The thing I love about my Serries truck is that even though you drive around it with a full set of tools and various spare parts if it has a proplem you just get out and fix it. With a new vehicle you need a computer to tell you what is wrong and thousands of dollars in specialty tools. There is something to say about simple basic internal combustion. Check for fuel and ignition.

Actually all those fancy tools will just point you in a broad direction for a component that is acting funny. If you have the skills to diagnos and fix a rover then you have the skills to diagnos and fix a newer car for many issues.

True but I enjoy the Rover and I get a kick out of breaking down and then figuring it out and fixing the problem. It is kind of soothing. My wife thinks I am nuts and tells me most middle aged men go buy a Corvette or an old mustang not an old Rover. I smile and say well arn't you glad that I am not any old guy. (I then remind her of her ex's hehehehe)

The 109 towed home my 2009 Nissan Titan due to a starter issue. It felt good to tow a 2009 with a 1971.
