Used the SIII to pull out a ford and farmall cub tractors that I buried up to the axles in wet clay. Should have learned after the first one! Thought oh I'll just get close to the wet spot, OH $#it!!!!THING 1 - 1973 88 SIII - SOLD

While servicing and cleaning the speedometer, I upgraded the lighting for the unit.
1st I got 4 12v ultrabright LED's:
Then I started gluing them to the back of the dial, since they're mono-directional, I faced them outwards to the reflecting ring on the edge of the dial like this:
I used 60 second epoxy to hold the LED's in place. The result is a very nice bright readable dial at least 3 times as bright as the original lighting:
Unfortunately this photo doesn't really do it justice. All I need to do now is upgrade the other dial with the fuel gauge and alternator gauge.Comment

finally got the rest of my 3/4 Canvas on
i like it. i ordered a couple of those tie off things for the back.
