What did you do to your Rover today?

Terry - I wondered if someone would comment on that! That is a flattering pic of the rear crossmember. In terms of install, it was a farmer's special as far as I can tell. Poorly done, including some weird cuts made into the supports running back from the cross member which probably didn't help it's strength for sure. Same with the front bumper. My guess is it was cut off an earlier truck. Because instead of bolting the unit in, someone cut through the bolt holes and then did another goofy weld up. I don't know about the quality of new bumpers, but I will probably go with something from Ike.

Not to be too much of a drama queen, but that frame really sucked. Patches just about everywhere. No attention to detail in the way things were welded. Outriggers not matching up. blah blah blah. It definitely looks more solid in the pics than it does in person.

today i did some more painting. I was not happy with the finish that came on the parabolics i got a while back, chipped far to easy. I have lots of leftover eastwood extreme chassis black so i slapped a few coats on them and i think that will be much better than stock. Also got my new shocks from RN, im debating if i should paint them or not, i hate the white and have a set on my jeep and they rusted in about 6 months. man i wish i could powder coat them...

paint em up. On each of my 109's Im running parabolics with the notorious white shocks (one set from Rocky Mountain and one from RN) both sets rusted out real quick. On my 88 I installed the shiny yellow old man emu's this summer and i'm curious to see how their finish will hold up in comparison.

I know it's a little late, but here's a painting tip for the paras: Use pipe cleaners from a craft store (the thick, long ones) to paint in between the leaves. Works like a charm!

Bloody Knuckles & Oil Dripper prototype

Machined aluminum, anodized black, then fly-wheel cut black off top of lettering.

More representative than OEM don't you think ?
