I just got some sexy new stainless steel hood latches from McmasterCarr! 304 stainless steel and 17 bucks each! I got sick of the bailing wire holding down the passenger side corner of the bonnet.

I made one more effort to stop an oil leak from around my oil pressure transmitter and I removed my bolt-on front diff cover and dug out thick gobs of Rauch Creek mud and sediment.

(I have been waiting 2 weeks on a package from Paddocks to send me new wiper arms so I can make a half hearted attempt to improve poor weather visability - pre-Winter Romp preparations.)

        Happy & Sad

I think I finally decided on a color to paint the Series. Going to try and find a modern code for Dark Grey (LRC.0001). Heading up on Saturday to Oregon to see Ike and go over my build-list.

Unfortunately, now need to officially sell my Discovery. Just posted for sale...

I installed some mud flaps. Made from military surplus M35 mud flaps that I picked up from Saturn Surplus.
You know, I'd hate to have a pebble get kicked up off the pavement and chip the paint on one of my gas tanks or axle cases.

You got to bring the amazing lightweight to the British Invasion this year. We could do a proper British military vehcile section.

So wheeling trip today got cancelled by a liar weatherman. So I decided to take the rover out for a few photos and general midtown shenanigans.

My package fom Paddocks finally arrived (3 weeks later). I also got my package from Tennessee Land Rover (telephone to door step in 2 days)
                    • Installed new oil pressure transmitter (gauge still does not work right but the oil leak appears to have stopped - been chasing that for 12 months)
                    • Installed two new wiper arms (broke blades in process)
                    • Replaced broken rear red fog light lens with new
                    • Installed two new flame traps on the rocker covers vents hoses (you know you want some, too)

Tomorrow, it will be off the auto parts store looking for new 10" wiper blades and then possibly a good scrub down all over in final prep for the ROMP. I still have not decided on a radiator muff design - partly because it has been so warm that I am not sure I will drive up with a muff on or not.

Max - TLR is still liquidating. I made the rounds on the telephone looking for my part. When I got to George at RDS he suggested I call Bill. I called Bill - he picked up the phone, we talked and sent me the part.

                            Soft Top 'quick release"

I finished my soft top solution to finally allow me to quickly release and rollup my soft top - rear flap and sides in approximately 1 minute.... and no more time consuming messin with ropes.
