Just call him. What he shows on the site isn't always what he has, nor is it all his inventory. Tell him Bill sent you. I can't say that shipping was a big deal with stuff. He sent me some door skins and front door bottoms and the cost wasn't too bad. They were really well packed. For something like a bulkhead, I'd recommend Matt Brown. He uses pegasus parts for components and does complete rebuilding service. About 3-4 months turnaround time.

I recently ordered a clutch pedal tower from Ike (Pangolin 4x4) and it too was well packed an no more expensive than getting it shipped locally.

Got any contact info for him? I'm in the market for bullhead repairs.

Sadly, no longer Rover Lab, he recently had to change his business name to "British 4x4 Specialist". Land Rover North America has been on a trademark infringement crack down spree of late.

I assembled the front spring packs finally. I did the rears a long time ago but the fronts seemed to keep floating around the joint.

UHMW tape......time will tell if it was worth the bother.

                Kevin,

Do the spring clamps slip off, or do you have to pry them open? Does prying weaken them (soft feeling when you bend them back)?

                  what did I do?

Crawled under my coveted Cedryck, and changed the crankcase oil, and filter. LONG overdue. Ordered tune up parts from out lovely hosts, and they are still sitting on top of tool box. Plugged a left rear tire after running over booze bottle in middle of road, it actually held. Dogs enjoy a fine ride to local coffee shop where someone will say "what year?"

Exciting step in my restoration project

Exciting step in my restoration project of the all original 1967 NADA 109 serial number 21.

Paint prep today will have been sprayed with etching primer on exposed aluminum and paint original color this weekend.

THen I will install all new seats of the fronts, middle bench and rewar inward facing jump seats.

                    Coming along nicely.

Very cool! I'm new to the whole vehicle painting thing...but wouldn't it seem more beneficial to remove all the lights and tape off the holes so the paint fills everything? Sorry if I don't know what I'm talking about, I've only removed the lights/plinths on a Puma so I don't really know how they're mounted on a Series.

                        Installed a Bed

Installed a bed in my 88". I will be living in the truck for five weeks in June so I needed a comfortable place to sleep. The front support rests on the bulkhead while the rear support is attached to the wheel well.
These modifications are all in preparation for my road trip to collect geological samples in support of my Ph.D. research. I will be traveling all over the Western US collecting rocks from NV, NM, AZ, CA, UT, WY, MN and ID. You can follow the adventures (and preparations) on my blog:

                        cambrianadventures.blogspot.ca

I just started the blog today but will get more posted as the trip gets closer.

                          Bed

                          willincalgary,
I love the idea of the bed. Was that from a pattern or did you just work through it? Have you tried sleeping on it yet?

I almost fell asleep on it yesterday testing it out. Then I remembered I had to pick up the kids in fifteen minutes. Very comfortable.

No pattern I just measured up the supports and started cutting canvas. Worked out really well.

The main bits. Notice my gear lever reverse gate assy on the table:

                              More hylomar:

I put a little sealer on the threads to hopefully prevent oil weeping out into the brake drum from the swivel ball:

The backplate, swivel housing and spindle all together. The outer races are installed in the hub and the bearings are ready:

I had to get a die to clean up the threads on the spindles. I might make it available for loan now. It is a lot cheaper than new spindles:

Packing the seal for the back of the hub:

                              The seal installed:

The first hub assembled and the jam nut locked in position:

The output shafts and tracta joints staged and ready:

Next thing is to hang these on the ends of the axle.

Willincalgary: That is a great idea; I may give it a try some day, too. Looking forward to reading about your adventures!

On the maintenance front I discovered the down pipe rattling around on the manifold. I'm breaking down rust with an evil mixture of ATF and acetone. It looks like the Landy gods are smiling on me; no studs broken off in the manifold. Also have the valve cover off and getting ready to reset valve clearance. Hmm, thinking maybe I ought to order a new valve cover gasket from the hosts.
