What did you do to your Rover today?

ROAM discs on. The kit was very complete. Matt Browne has taken a few pictures. I'll try to get him to send them to me.

I'd be interested in seeing these pics. This is one of those 'maybe someday' things. How much of the conversion did you have to source outside of ROAM?

RN offers the "Companion Kit" for either 2 wheel PLK6116 Kit, with new hub bearings and PLK6118 Kit using your existing hub bearings.
The 4 wheel kit #'s are PLK6117 with new bearings and PLK6119 utilizing your original bearings.
The web site lists all the current components of the relevant kits.

I hope this helps, we've had nothing but positive feedback on the ROAM conversions.

Talked to my brother on the phone as he lay in the snow trying to replace the clutch slave cylinder. Heckled him on why he keeps breaking my toys until he got frustrated and threatened to hang up on me.

Asked him if he wanted the Expedition to drive instead as we finally got that back from the body shop. (He stuffed it into a parked car doing a slide for life down a snow covered hill) He refused and said he prefers my Rover.

I'm starting to enjoy the "own a Rover but make your brother do all the work on it" scheme.

Wrapped up the ROAM install. My 15" wheels rubbed on the calipers so minor adjustments had to be made. I am very, very pleased with the results. Now it's time to start saving for rear discs. Replaced both driveshafts, and added a new Series rear step. Drove home from Eliot, ME to Brewer, ME in single digit temperatures and damn near froze. Life is good and love my Rover.

Night and day difference with the discs eh Jim? If you can spare the $$$ I think it's near the top of the list of things you can do to a series to make it right without changing it's basic character.

I hope this helps, we've had nothing but positive feedback on the ROAM conversions.

I'd give the kit an overall thumbs up. I did have to do some work with a die grinder inside the swivel housings to correct some interference with casting "issues' not a big worry and it is mentioned in the instructions.

The Calipers needed almost 1/8" machined from the outer surfaces to fit the 15 inch wheels being used (wheels would not even turn when installed). They were Rover wheels and they were cleaned up on the inside. I'd recommend that this kit be limited to 16" wheels as the clearance with 15" wheels even with the caliper modified is much to tight for reason, and foreign objects like the dried up red backed salamander I found inside one of the wheels lol.
I will note that the calipers used were Pro line and may differ from the Genuine part in overall dimensions......something I did not verify.

I thought I was doing pretty well just to get the truck started in the sub-zero temperatures this morning. It gave a couple of ill tempered growls as it slowly turned over, but it caught pretty quickly. I do hope this cold snap ends soon though.

Yeah, I drove mine to work today also. EP90 is a little thick at -5 degrees. I usually put the transfer case in nutral, and the transmission in first for a few minutes during warm-up to stir the EP90 around a little before taking off. It still feels like you are driving with one foot on the brakes the whole way!

Replaced the snail brake adjusters on my drums today. Would like to see a little more depth on the adjustment nut heads from the kit I got from RN. Other than that was an easy install.

I thought I read somewhere that the ROAM conversion was for 16" wheels only.

No it states in the ROAM instructions that it fits 15" wheels. It is the Torrel kit from Rocky Mnt. which requires 16" wheels.

Adjusted the steering stops that prevent the front wheels from turning to far. All is good.
